Privacy policy

Last updated 8 November 2026

SpecForge engineers PC specifications. This policy explains what we collect when you use the app, why we need it, and how you can remove it.

Information we collect

Account data. Your email address and, where provided by your sign-in provider, your name. If you sign in with Apple, Google, Microsoft or Facebook we receive an account identifier and email address from that provider; we never receive your password for those accounts.

Build data you create. The budgets, workloads, preferences and settings you enter, the configurations the optimiser generates for you, engine diagnostics, and the builds you choose to save or share.

Technical data. Log and diagnostic information generated when your device requests the app, such as error records and basic request metadata, used to keep the service running.

We do not collect precise location data, contacts, photos, health data, or any device sensor data. The app requests no camera, microphone or notification permissions.

How we use it

To run the optimiser against your constraints, store the builds you save, show your build history, generate share links you explicitly create, respond to support requests, and keep the service secure and working. We do not use your build data to train models, and we do not build advertising profiles.

What we do not do

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with advertising networks or data brokers. SpecForge takes no payments, so we never collect or store payment card details.

Who processes data for us

The app is hosted on Base44, which provides the database, authentication and hosting infrastructure. If you choose a social sign-in, that provider authenticates you under its own privacy policy. Our infrastructure providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and only to run the service.

Builds you mark as public are readable by anyone who holds the share link, including people without an account. You control that toggle per build.

Retention

Saved builds and optimisation history are kept until you delete them or delete your account. Account records are kept for as long as your account exists. Deletion requests are retained briefly as a record that the request was actioned.

Deleting your account and your data

Open the account menu from the header and choose Delete account. Your saved builds and optimisation history are removed immediately and your account record is removed on request. You can also email specforgebuilds@gmail.com from the address on your account and we will action the deletion for you.

Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be undone. Individual builds can be deleted at any time without closing your account.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, to object to certain processing, or to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. You can exercise these rights from the account menu or by contacting us.

Security

Access to your saved builds and history is restricted to your own account. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections. No system is perfectly secure, so use a strong, unique password and keep your sign-in credentials private.

Children

SpecForge is not directed at children. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account, and older where your local law requires it. We do not knowingly collect data from children below that age; if you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

International transfers

Our service providers may process data in countries other than yours. Where that happens, transfers are covered by the safeguards those providers apply to their own infrastructure.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new "last updated" date, and continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
