Terms of service

Last updated 8 November 2026

These terms govern your use of SpecForge. By using the app you agree to them.

What the app provides

SpecForge is an engineering tool. It applies hard-coded compatibility rules, a performance model and a deterministic search to propose PC configurations that fit the constraints you enter. It is a planning aid, not a shop, a builder, or a seller of hardware.

Estimates and reference data

Prices are reference estimates drawn from a versioned catalogue and are not live retailer listings. They can be out of date, vary by region, and change without notice. Nothing in the app is an offer to sell hardware at the price shown.

Performance figures, frame-rate forecasts and bottleneck analysis are modelled estimates, benchmark-anchored where a reference measurement exists. Real results depend on drivers, firmware, cooling, ambient conditions, silicon variation and software versions. Always confirm compatibility and final pricing with the retailer or manufacturer before buying.

Your account

You may browse the app without an account. Saving builds, sharing them publicly and using the natural-language input require an account. Keep your credentials secure, use a sign-in method you control, and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised. You are responsible for activity performed through your account.

Your content

The builds you create remain yours. You grant us the limited permission needed to store, process and display them back to you, and to serve them to anyone you give a share link to if you make a build public. You are responsible for what you submit and for who you share it with.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt to break the app, probe or bypass its access controls, scrape the catalogue at scale, resell the service as your own, or use it to build anything unlawful. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service or interfere with other users.

Assembling a PC is your decision

The optimiser reports the checks it performed, and every build lists its compatibility result. Building, modifying or overclocking hardware carries risk, including damage and injury. Verify parts physically arrive as specified, follow manufacturer instructions, and treat any build suggestion as a starting point that you review before you buy or assemble.

Availability and changes

The app is provided as it is. We may change, add or remove features, and we may interrupt the service for maintenance or because a dependency changes. The catalogue is updated manually, so availability and prices reflect the moment of publication rather than real time.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from purchasing decisions, assembly outcomes or hardware damage based on the app's estimates. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Ending your use

You can stop using the app at any time and delete your account from the account menu, which removes your saved builds and history. We may close an account that breaches these terms after reasonable notice where notice is practical.

Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms as the app evolves. The current version is always on this page with its "last updated" date, and continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the revised terms.
